AAP: A treason-friendly outfit – Ravi Shanker Kapoor

It is only in India that charlatans like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, and Manish Sisodia can pass off as knights in shining armor who are determined to save democracy from the corrupt leaders of big political parties. It seems that the mainstream media’s penchant for glib talkers, howsoever vacuous and banal their utterances may be, has numbed its ability to scrutinize their principles and agendas. So, we have the situation that the obvious fallacies and perfidies of AAP go virtually unexamined.

Kejriwal recently sought the support of the venom-spewing cleric, Tauqeer Raza Khan. This mad mullah had issued a fatwa to behead Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin for criticizing orthodox practices of Islam. Kejriwal has tried to justify his meeting with the Maulana, “a very respected man,” by making it appear as routine during his visit to Bareilly. “I had gone to the dargah to pray for a corruption-free India and met Mualana Raza Saheb as he is a very respected man there [Bareilly]. I met him and appealed him that everyone should come together to save the country as it is going through a sensitive phase,” Kejriwal said.

Appealing a violent bigot “to save the country” is like asking a pedophile to do baby-sitting, but Kejriwal finds nothing wrong in it.

It needs to be mentioned here that the Kejriwal-Khan meeting was not an aberration, resulting from the budding politician’s haste to grab power in Delhi; it should be seen as part of Kejriwal’s policy towards Muslims—the policy of appeasement. A few months earlier, he had parroted the views of the most notorious Muslim fundamentalists and appeasers on the 2008 Batla House encounter. He went on record saying that the Batla House encounter was “fake.” He said that “in [the] case of Batla House, several people raised a doubt if those youths needed to be killed or could they have been arrested alive. If they were terrorists, it was very important to arrest them and reach their handlers. But if they were innocent, shouldn’t the police personnel present be punished?”

This is the language of jihadist supporters who are some of the most retrograde and fanatical members of the Muslim community. Their allegations continue despite the fact that the National Human Rights Commission gave a clean chit to the Delhi Police in the case in July 2009 and the Supreme Court subsequently dismissed a petition seeking a judicial inquiry into the encounter. And who, pray, was the petitioner? Well, no other than Bhushan. In fact, the Bench comprising the then Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justices P. Sathasivam and B.N. Chauhan pulled up Bhushan, asking him, “How was a police officer [Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma] killed if the boys were innocent, and how is it that they were armed?” The Bench went on to say, “Thousands of police officers have been killed in terrorist attacks and if inquiry is ordered after one year, it will cause harassment to the innocent people and will demoralize the police force.”

Such eventualities, however, do not bother Kejriwal & Co. Deterioration in the law and order situation doesn’t bother them. In the case of Bhushan, even dismemberment of the nation is not a problem, as he wants Kashmir to be given up if the Kashmiris say so. Though the AAP maintains that Bhushan’s views on Kashmir are not its own, the ideological thread that binds Bhushan with other party leaders is strong. It is the ideology of Leftwing extremism, of Maoism, also called Naxalism.

It is important to note that Bhushan is not the only Maoist supporter in the AAP; Kejriwal and Sisodia are also sympathize with the Maoists who are bloodthirsty murderers masquerading as the messiahs of the poor. Kejriwal and Sisodia were among the activists who raised a stink when Dr. Binayak Sen was found guilty of working as courier of the Naxalites.

So, this is AAP—a bunch of traitors and jihadist and Naxal sympathizers. All the facts mentioned in the previous paragraphs are in the public domain and are freely available on the Net; nothing is classified information or information obtained after a great deal of effort. Yet, the treason-friendly windbags are able to portray themselves as great redeemers in the media. I wonder which factor plays a bigger role—the shenanigans of AAP blusterers or the credulity of our journalists.

  1. Good…..the way u expressed ur thoughts about kejriwal & co (as u call them) was applauding…but let me tell u one thing…..ur facts about things are very narrow…..pessimists like has drawn India back to the vicious circle…..let me get ur facts cleared….this maulana is associated with many parties like Congress and other regional parties…..u must not have come across the footage perhaps that’s y u seem so inclined towards other parties,,…kejriwal & co definitely not the best alternative but better than other blood sucking parties…… As far as Maoists & naxalits r concerned…..u need to get into their history…..don’t make absolute statements like politicians…..get into facts first……as far as Kashmir is concerned…..i don’t think u r again aware about the history…..n even if someone has a difference of opinion….then y not there be a space for healthy arguments……in fact India’s majority of military expenditure is in that area……the thing about foreign donation to Aap has emerged now…..but if u read newspaper & watch news channel other parties are way ahead in ever such front……we Indians hav a dream of having clean politics but whenever one comes to make so……some become so speculative……i wonder how things would change……
